It goes without saying that the last few weeks have been pretty massive for the world of Xbox. The hotly anticipated Series X|S was released, and EA Play joined the world of Game Pass. Oh, and Snoop got a new fridge. After all this hubbub, it’s kind of nice to have a relatively relaxed week. Let’s take a look at what’s new this week on Xbox Game Pass.
Ark: Survival Evolved: Explorer’s Edition (Nov. 17) – Android, Console, & PC
Listen up, fans of survival games and titles with more than one colon in them: your time has come. The base Ark game is already available on Game Pass, so perhaps you’ve indulged in this prehistoric pooping simulator. The Explorer’s Edition couples the base game with 3 rather large expansion packs for more dino fun.
Halo MCC: Halo 4 (Nov. 17) – PC
I would be remiss to not lay down the wager that the majority of readers on this niche gaming site have probably already played Halo 4. I would also wager that many of you would like to do it again. Well, if you have a PC, now is your chance. This week on Xbox Game Pass, Halo 4 joins the rest of the Master Chief Collection on PC.
River City Girls (Nov. 19) – Android, Console, & PC
The Kunio-Kun/River City franchise has been a mainstay in beat-em-up action since the first release for the Famicom in 1986. In this entry to the series, regular protagonists Misako and Kyoko have been kidnapped! Thus, only their loving girlfriends can team up to save them. If you beat-em-up fans weren’t satiated by Battletoads (our own Hayden H. was a big fan), this may be a way to let out your pent up aggression.
Star Renegades (Nov. 19) – Android & Console
This week on Xbox Game Pass, I had that inescapable feeling of deja vu. Usually, my inescapable feelings side more towards existential dread, so I decided to poke into this a bit more. Sure enough, I’ve written about Star Renegades before! This title came to us on PC back in September. Now, console and Android gamers will be able to join in the constant frustration that only a rogue-lite can provide.
What are we losing?
Time to take a fresh look at what’s departing this week on Xbox Game Pass. These titles are officially removed from the service on November 16th. As always, they will be able to purchase for their regular price on the Microsoft Store.
- Darksiders III
- The Talos Principle
