Rocket League Season 2 Takes Center Stage December 9th

Rocket League Season 2 has just been announced, and it’s loaded with content thanks to a new Rocket Pass. The music-themed season offers up fresh vehicles, introduces Player Anthems, a new Arena, and much more. Xbox Series X|S Optimization is also coming to Rocket League, with options of 120 frames per second(!). Without further ado, let’s dig in.

Season 2 Rocket Pass

Rocket League‘s newest Rocket Pass is its most colorful one yet. It features over 70 tiers of music-related content highlighted by the latest vehicle, the R3MX. The sleek new car will be available immediately to Rocket Pass Premium users, with the R3MX GMT capping off the pass at tier 70. Accompanying the new vehicles, music-reactive items make their debut and are sprinkled in between along with some vibrant new decals and Goal Explosions. Check out the full Season 2 tier list here.

Xbox Series X|S Optimization

Rocket League is getting a major performance boost on the Xbox Series X|S. New video quality settings will now allow the player to select between Quality and Performance. Quality settings will run Rocket League according to Xbox Series X|S standards of 4K/1080p resolution and 60 FPS with HDR, respectively. The alternative Performance settings enable the game to run at 70% of its natural resolution in exchange for a whopping 120 FPS with HDR. The Xbox Series X|S Optimization update will be available one day prior to the release of Season 2. The next generation is here, folks.

New Arena and Player Anthems

Racers can show off their new rides in Rocket League‘s latest Arena, Neon Fields. Match the musical theme of this colorful stage with Player Anthems, the newest addition to customization. Player Anthems reward your highlight-reel plays by jamming your favorite tracks. Listen in after you score goals, make game-saving stops, or earn treasured MVP honors. Unlock classic Rocket League tunes and new ones alike through Rocket Pass, challenges, or the Item Shop.
