Owlcat Games and Deep Silver have announced the release date for Pathfinder Kingmaker: Definitive Edition. This Definitive Edition will bring their popular solo RPG to the consoles for the first time. The Xbox One version will be released on August 18th, 2020.
Pathfinder Kingmaker: Definitive Edition takes adventures through the dangerous and mysterious Stolen Lands. Lots of features in the game will be very familiar to fans of the Pathfinder series. Along with the standard base game, players will receive 6 previously released DLC’s. These are:
A brand-new race gets introduced in this DLC, the Tiefling’s. Players receive a new playable class too, called Kineticists.
Varnhold’s Lot gives players a new storyline to experience. This storyline complements the main game story as choices players make, have repercussions in the main storyline.
Beneath The Stolen Lands
Players will discover what secrets lie beneath the Stolen Lands. Explore shifting labyrinths and battle one of the most powerful creatures the world has ever known.
The Bloody Mess DLC does exactly what it says on the tin, adding extra blood and gore options to the game.
The Arcane Unleashed DLC adds new magic abilities and spells to the game.
In this DLC you get a whole host of game extras. These include; Digital Artbooks, Soundtrack Options, a Board-game module and a Red Panda that can be used in the game.
Along with the DLC package, the Definitive Edition features a major new game mechanic. Pathfinder Kingmaker first launched in 2018. The main complaint players had was the lack of turn based combat. With this edition of the game, that omission has been addressed.
The developers have now added the choice of turn based and real time combat to the game. With the simple press of a button, players can switch between the two styles. Some battles will require extra micromanagement via the turn-based system. Others encounters will be more suited to the faster, real time combat style.
The UI and control schemes have also been overhauled. For example, important controls are displayed on the screen during combat. This will aid many new players. The text has been scaled up as well in Pathfinder Kingmaker: Definitive Edition. This should help to make sure it displays properly on TV screens.
