Sony San Diego confirmed on Monday morning that MLB The Show 21, featuring Fernando Tatis Jr., would be on Xbox consoles. The announcement came as part of the cover reveal. MLB The Show 21 is slated to arrive on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on April 20, 2021.
2021 will mark the first time that MLB The Show will be released on an Xbox console. Prior to this year, the outstanding baseball simulation was only available on PlayStation consoles. When the licensing agreement with Major League Baseball was renewed in December 2019, Sony Interactive Entertainment committed to publishing MLB The Show on multiple platforms.
MLB The Show features in-depth game modes including Franchise, Road to the Show, and Diamond Dynasty. The release of MLB The Show 21 on Xbox consoles will mark the first time Xbox has had a true baseball simulation since Major League Baseball 2K13. Since then, RBI Baseball and the outstanding Super Mega Baseball series have been the only way to experience America’s pastime on Xbox.
You can currently pre-order the Standard Edition of MLB The Show 21 for $59.99 on Xbox One or $69.99 on Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox Series X|S version comes with 10 Diamond Dynasty packs and 5000 stubs, while the Xbox One version comes with 5000 stubs but no packs. Details on the Digital Deluxe Edition will be made available on Wednesday. A look at the FAQ indicates that the Digital Deluxe Edition will include cross-gen capabilities if you want both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions of the game.
