The Mandalorian Season 2 hits Disney+ in just a few days on October 30th. To celebrate, Microsoft are gracing us with a Mandalorian Xbox controller (Beskar not included). The controller is available to preorder now and the current release date is slated for December 31st 2020. It seems to have sold out rather quickly. It is not known at this time whether there will be more stock produced.
The special edition controller is paired with an Xbox Pro charging stand and will retail at $170/£170. The controller will be compatible with both the Series X/S and Xbox One consoles. It will also work with most PC games.
The design of the Mandalorian Xbox controller itself sees a silver and grey pattern with battle-scarring, along with two signets of the Mythosaur and Mudhorn for each grip. The charging stand features a Mandalorian helmet. The controller is the ultimate fan service for the Star Wars faithful. It also features the fan-favourite character The Child on the back.
Despite being Series’ compatible, you will find that the controller has the same physical configuration as the current-gen controllers. You therefore will find the ergonomic and feature improvements of next-gen controllers are omitted.
Despite this, the controller hailing from Mandalore will be a perfect acquisition for Star Wars gamers. It will undoubtedly fetch quite the bounty as a collector’s item in future.
