When the current generation-emerged Capcom treated us to Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, it boasted new playable characters, new cutscenes, polished gameplay, improved graphics, the option to switch between English and Japanese voice tracks, and additional costumes. Now, with the next generation of consoles emerging, we will be getting Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition.
The Special Edition will feature improved graphics options, allowing players to tailor their next-gen experience to their preference. Ray tracing, increased frame rates, and high-resolution output are a few examples of customization options. Additionally, 3D audio implementation and new gameplay modes are possible due to the increased processor power. New game modes include ‘Turbo Mode’ with 20% increased gameplay speed, and ‘Legendary Dark Knight Mode,’ dispatching more demons for you to slay. Capcom mentioned that “this promise could only be realized thanks to next-gen processing power.”
Ray tracing allows for more realistic reflection/refraction in the world. So when looking in a lake or a mirror, it’s pretty realistic. The implementation of ray tracing also creates more realistic light and shadow effects than before. With ray tracing, you can prioritize either resolution or framerate; 4k @ 30 FPS, 1080p @ 60FPS, or turn off ray tracing all together for an amazing 120 FPS.
Give Me More Power
Vergil will now be available as a playable character in DMC 5: SE. This is a feature that fans of the game have clamored for greatly. Play as Dante’s evil brother in his own story mode and blood palace. It’s worth noting that Vergil is not available in current generations Devil May Cry 5.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition also includes additional content released separate from the main game, such as the Deluxe Edition Upgrade, EX Color Costumes (originally pre-order exclusives), and the Bloody Palace mode.
What does the game promise?
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is a continuation of Capcom’s famous hack-n-slash franchise. The 2019 game mopped up multiple awards including a ‘Golden Joystick Award’ for Best Visual Design and The Game Awards ‘Best Action Game.’ The Special Edition will be sure to please fans of the series.
When is it ready to play?
You can play the game digitally on day one (November 12th 2020). The game is getting it’s physical release on December 1st 2020. You can pre-order directly through the Capcom Store, or at other retailers.
