Cyberpunk 2077 Livestream Provides Some New Gameplay

CD Projekt RED released the first episode of Night City Wire today showcasing some new information on Cyberpunk 2077. Night City Wire was initially announced to take place on June 11th but was postponed due to current events. The event instead took place today, where we got a preview of Cyberpunk 2077 showcasing a feature called Brain Dance.

In the lore of Cyberpunk, it was developed to record experiences and play them back for another person. It also allows you to rewind and fast-forward as well as gain new perspectives. Basically, it allows you to replay memories. Either the memories of someone else, or your own.

It looks to be an interesting feature that will tie in with the quest design. For example, we see a robbery gone wrong and hope to find the killer. In the gameplay segment, we see that rewinding the scene back gives us new insight.

A specific monitor is in view of the robbery we witness. It allowed them to gain access to the store security camera, revealing the robbers’ friend set him up. It will be interesting to see other ways to utilize the Brain Dance mechanic.

In a wonderful surprise, we also got an announcement that Studio Trigger, of Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, Darling in the Franxx fame, will be helming a Cyberpunk anime series in partnership with Netflix and CD Projekt RED.

This has an expected release date of sometime in 2022 and will coincide with Studio Triggers 10 year anniversary. Night City Wire is planned to release more information in the coming weeks with more sneak peeks into the game.

Other outlets went live with impressions as well. Some of them such as PC Gamer had the opportunity to play a bit of the game. Vibrant neon signs and a thumping techno backdrop gives the impression that Night City will be lively, exciting, and dangerous.
