Welcome back COD fans to another weekly installment of Call of Duty Corner! This week, we recap the big Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal and provide an update on what is new in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Black Ops Cold War
The biggest news of the week is definitely the multiplayer reveal for Black Ops Cold War. If you missed it, you can check out my full recap here. If you don’t have time for the full recap, let me give you the cliff notes. Developer Treyarch highlighted several of the new maps, including locations in Miami, Russia, and the Atlantic Ocean. These maps look absolutely beautiful and quite large, providing ample opportunity to flank the opposing team. Along with the new maps, there are many new Cold War era weapons and vehicles at your disposal.
There are three new multiplayer modes available called VIP Escort, Combined Arms Domination, and Fireteam. All three modes offer a new gameplay variant and are in addition to all our COD favorites like Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed. Oh, and they teased a five second clip for Zombies.. so more information on that is expected soon!
There are a number of player and combat changes, including updates to gunsmith and scorestreaks. Now, scorestreaks will no longer lapse upon your death. This will allow for a more balanced and welcoming multiplayer experience for all. Finally, it was announced that multiplayer will be cross-gen and cross-platform enabled, making Black Ops Cold War the most open multiplayer experience ever! Plus all your Warzone experience carries over to this game, which is a great bonus.
You can check out the full multiplayer reveal trailer below. Black Ops Cold War releases on November 13th. Pre-order a digital copy and receive Open Beta Early Access (October 15th for Xbox owners). The Woods Operator Pack, an additional pre-order bonus, is available for immediate use in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Modern Warfare & Warzone
Need to get ready for all the action in Black Ops Cold war? Well Modern Warfare and Warzone have plenty to keep you entertained this week! Shoot the Ship returns to player delight, while Gunfight Face Off moshpit places modes such as Cranked and Grind on very small maps. For those looking to stretch their legs a bit more, Ground War Reinfected makes a return to the playlists.
This weekend only, Warzone will feature Buy Back Quads. Find cash quick to re-deploy yourself if needed in this BR alternative. BR Solos, Duos, Trios, Quads, and Blood Money Trios are also available this week.
Look out this week for the Tracer Pack Anime Super bundle, which includes either a legendary assault rifle, legendary SMG, or epic assault rifle. The Alex: Death Stalker bundle also drops this week and includes two legendary blueprints.
